Join us on February 2 at 8pm, for our first food and art pairing dinner: a culinary tribute to Tupac, Biggie and the East Coast/West Coast hip hop rivalries of the ’90s. The evening’s dishes are directly inspired by some of the biggest hits of these two godfathers of hip hop, and will be accompanied by a DJ playing those tracks, along with others from the era.

Graffiato is partnering up with Michter’s, Atlas Brew Works, and Civil Cigar Lounge for an evening of American Whiskey, local beer, Italian-inspired cuisine and fine cigars.
This four-course plated dinner features unique Italian-inspired dishes crafted by the Graffiato team matched with fine spirits and brews from Michter’s and Atlas Brew Works. Unlike a typical Graffiato dinner, this is not a small plates experience, but a plated four-course meal.
These dishes are exclusive to the dinner and are not found on the regular Graffiato menu. Each course is paired with a beer from Atlas and a whiskey from Michter’s. Guests will take away a gift bag featuring a cigar from Civil Cigar Lounge as well as other exclusive items.
The dinner is on June 15, 2014 at 7pm. The cost of this Event is $95 per person plus tax and gratuity.

Take a culinary journey to Sicily with the Planetta Wine Dinner on December 16 at 7pm.
The five-course dinner features plated dishes specially created by Chef de Cuisine Jennifer Flynn to pair with the distinctive wines of Planeta, which are drawn from vineyards all over Sicily.

This year, Graffiato’s own Mike Isabella is holding court as Chef Honoree of Taste of Hope, the American Cancer Society’s signature culinary, wine and spirits event that features more than 50 of Washington DC’s most popular chefs, restaurants and beverage vendors. Join Mike and his chef friends for a tasting event that offers signature dishes, premier wines and spirits and inventive cocktails. All proceeds from Taste of Hope go towards the American Cancer Society’s goal of eliminating cancer as a major health problem.
Taste of Hope takes place of September 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the Carnegie Library.

Graffiato will host the official Taste of Hope after party from 10pm to midnight featuring $5 drink specials: Prosecco on draft, house red and white wines,draft beer, and a featured punch. The pizza oven will also be open for late night orders.
Experience some of Italy’s best wines during the Marchesi di Barolo Wine Dinner on September 16 at 7pm.
For a five-course plated dinner, Chef de Cuisine Jennifer Flynn has designed signature dishes to pair with distinctive Italian wines from the Marchesi di Barolo cellars. Sixth-generation winemaker Valentina Abbona will co-host the evening and guide guests through the hand-selected pairings from her family estate in the Piedmont region of Italy.

This summer, Graffiato’s Mike Isabella is joining with the American Cancer Society and 15 other Washington, D.C. chefs and mixologists for the inaugural Fit for Hope weight loss challenge. This 12-week challenge, running from June 24 – September 24, will have Mike Isabella working with local trainer Jason Yoo to achieve the end goal of losing the largest percentage of body weight. Announcement of the winner will occur at the culmination event, Taste of Hope, held September 24 at the Carnegie Library. Taste of Hope is the American Cancer Society’s annual signature culinary, wine and spirits event.It will be the 100th birthday of Taste of Hope, and the first time the event is held in in Washington D.C. “Fit for Hope will be an incredible challenge,” said Isabella, who is co-hosting Taste of Hope with the American Cancer Society , “but if anyone is up for the challenge and the competition, it’s my friends in the restaurant industry.”
Each chef must raise a minimum of $2,500, with all proceeds going toward the goal of eliminating cancer as a major health problem. Chef Mike Isabella competed against four other renowned DC chefs in the 5th Annual Cochon 555, a one-of-a-kind traveling culinary competition and tasting event to promote sustainable farming of heritage breed pigs. Mike Isabella was crowned the “Prince of Porc” at this year’s DC competition held April 7th at the Newseum. He will compete for the national title in June at the Food & Wine Classic in Aspen, CO.
The competition required each chef to prepare a menu created from one entire heritage breed pig by creating dishes using all of its parts. Isabella won the title with six dishes, including a pig’s head parm, and a nutella cookie with whipped pork fat frosting, and the crowd’s favorite – a pork fat arancini.

On June 9, Top Chef All-Stars contestant and celebrity chef Angelo Sosa will visit Graffiato for a special dinner hosted by Chef Mike Isabella. The five-course dinner menu will feature recipes such as scallop banana tartar with jalapeño vinaigrette and grilled duck breast with honey pepper glaze from Chef Sosa’s upcoming book, Flavor Exposed: 100 Global Recipes from Sweet to Salty, Earthy to Spicy.
